Come and enjoy the rich history of our beloved town! Our current displays include a colonial kitchen, a gallery of fine oil paintings by Andre Champollion, a colonial bedroom and two other rooms where exhibits are rotated annually. If you’ve already visited, please come back again and view our new exhibits.

Museum Hours and Volunteer Availability

The Newport Historical Society Museum is generally open during the midday hours on most Sundays throughout the year, as well as occasional evenings during the week—depending on volunteer availability. If the American flag and the “Open” flag are on display at both entrances, the museum is open.

We welcome visitors during these times, and special appointments can also be made by calling 603-863-1294.

As we are a volunteer-run museum, our open hours may vary. Reducing the length of volunteer shifts to just a couple of hours may help us attract more docents. Thank you for your understanding and support!

We have an entrance on Central Street and an entrance from our back parking lot, both of which are handicapped accessible.
