Antique Postcards

Antique Christmas Postcards (1906-1911)

These beautiful antique Christmas postcards, dating from 1906 to 1911, offer a glimpse into a cherished tradition of the early 20th century. Many of the cards were sent to Percy L. Conrey in Lisbon Centre, Maine, and signed by Clara E. Peverly, reflecting personal connections of the time.

German-made, colored postcards like these were especially popular in the United States between 1907 and 1910. Renowned for their vibrant colored inks, intricate printing, and embossing techniques, they set a high standard for quality and craftsmanship that remains admired today.

This unique collection was generously donated by Dorothy Collins and is now part of the Newport Historical Society’s holdings. We are delighted to showcase them here for the community to enjoy.
