Museum Open to the Public and Free.

The Newport Historical Society Museum is located in the Nettleton House at 20 Central Street in downtown Newport, just up the street from Salt hill Pub and Hubert’s Department Store.  The Museum is open on Sundays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm throughout the year. Special appointments may also be made by calling (603) 863-1294. We have an entrance on Central Street and an entrance from our back parking lot, both of which are handicapped accessible.  Come and enjoy the rich history of our beloved town! Our current displays include a colonial kitchen, a gallery of fine oil paintings by Andre Champollion, a colonial bedroom and two other rooms where exhibits are rotated annually in September. If you’ve already visited, please come back again and view our new exhibits.
